On our inaugural episode for our new podcast, Ethical Antidotes, we interview Wim Vandekerckhove, Professor of Business Ethics and Co-Director of the Centre for Research in Employment and Work and the University of Greenwich in London. Wim is Head of the Technical Committee 309/Work Group 3 which created the new ISO 37002 Whistleblowing Management System Guidelines. In our illuminating conversation, we discussed the importance of forging a global standard and how to design and manage a best practice management system that supports and protects whistleblowers.
As outined in our recent article, new guideline is currently a draft version with aim for a fully-approved release in July 2021. The document will guide organisations for implementing, managing, evaluating, maintaining and improving a robust and effective whistleblowing management system across all sectors and business types (including non-profits). Organisations can use ISO 37002 as stand-alone guidance or pair it with other management system standards related to ethics, quality, risk, and whistleblowing.
